Issue

TallyPrime was unable to print vouchers/reports to an Epson LQ-350 ESC/P2 printer while the user was working through a Remote Desktop session.

Description of the Issue

The Epson LQ-350 worked correctly from the local PC and was successfully redirected into the Remote Desktop session. Windows printing and RDP printer redirection were functioning, but TallyPrime initially failed to send print jobs to the redirected Epson printer.

The following checks were completed:

  • The Epson LQ-350 printed normally from the local PC.
  • The printer appeared in the Remote Desktop session as EPSON LQ-350 ESC/P2 (redirected 4).
  • A Windows Test Page printed successfully from the Remote Desktop session.
  • A Notepad test print from inside the Remote Desktop session printed successfully to the redirected Epson.
  • TallyPrime successfully printed to Microsoft Print to PDF; the Save Print Output As window appeared normally.
  • During the initial Tally-to-Epson tests, no print job appeared in the Epson print queue on the Remote Desktop server.
  • During the same initial test, no print job appeared in the Epson print queue on the local laptop.

Solution

The working TallyPrime print configuration was confirmed as follows:

Printer EPSON LQ-350 ESC/P2 (redirected 4)
Print Format  Neat Mode

1. Open the required voucher or report in TallyPrime.

2. Open the Print screen.

3. Select EPSON LQ-350 ESC/P2 (redirected 4) as the printer.

4. Set Print Format to Neat Mode.

5. Print the voucher/report.

6. Keep the working configuration unchanged after successful testing.

Verification

The same voucher was printed from TallyPrime to the redirected Epson LQ-350 using Neat Mode. The first test printed successfully. A second test was performed using the same settings and also printed successfully.

Final result: Printing from TallyPrime to the redirected Epson LQ-350 is working consistently in Neat Mode.

Notes:

  • Do not change the confirmed working printer selection or print format unless additional troubleshooting is required.
  • Dot Matrix Format was tested during troubleshooting but did not resolve the issue in this case.
  • The available TallyPrime Print Configuration screen did not expose a Use Windows Printing System / Print through Windows driver option or a Print as Image option.
  • If the issue reappears, first confirm that the redirected printer name has not changed after a new Remote Desktop session.
